ILGS Educates Assembly Members
The Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS) held a day capacity building workshop for Assembly members in Atwima Mponua. The program was organized by the Human Resource unit of the Assembly and the office of the Presiding Member.

In her welcome address, Mrs Louisa Benon, the Coordinating Director welcomed the Assembly members to the function. She noted that, the exercise was to inculcate in them, the drills of their work for easy execution of their duties. She prayed them to utilize the opportunity and make good use of same to enrich their knowledge in Local Governance.


Mr. Isaac Kofi Marfo, the District Chief Executive admonished his colleagues to pay attention to grasp everything that will be shared. He noted that, this agenda has been on the drawing board for ages and he is grateful to God that, it has been fruitful in his era.


Two lecturers from the Institute of Local Government Studies in the able personalities of Mr. Robert Odei-Ntow a guru in the Human Resource field and Dr. Kwabena Boateng led the charge to facilitate the workshop.

In the marathon events, the facilitators lectured on political Ecology of Assembly Members; Next generational Leadership and Local Governance System.

The second session was facilitated by Mr. Odei Ntow who spoke on Deliberative functions of Assembly Members; Formulation and Presentation of ideas; Communication and Interpersonal Skills of Assembly Members the Art of Public Speaking and Negotiation Skills.


In addition he touched on Legislative functions of Assembly Members. Bye Laws and the Process of enacting Bye-Laws and Representative functions of Assembly Members.



After the program, Hon. Issaka Kombat rallied his colleagues to thank management for this perpetual novelty. He posited that, in his long stint as an Assemblyman at the Assembly, this is the first time in 12 years that a workshop has been organized for members. He added that, members should make good use of the resources the DCE and his administrative Secretary have pumped into the workshop to enrich their knowledge.


Mr. Charles Dwumfour, the Presiding Member thanked his colleagues for the honor done him by attending the workshop. He implored on the DCE and the DCD to continue blessing Assembly members with such educative programs.
