The Suaman District is one of the 254 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana and forms part of the 23 MMDAs in the Western Region.
The District is located at the Mid-Western part of the Western Region and it covers a total land area of 400.14 square kilometres.
Suaman District with its Administrative capital Dadieso was carved from Aowin/Suaman District and forms part of the new districts and municipalities created in the year 2012 and were inaugurated at their various locations simultaneously on the 28th June, 2012 by a Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2016.
It shares common boundaries with Juaboso and Bodi Districts to the north, the Aowin Municipal to the south, Sefwi Akontombra District to the east and the Republic of La Cote D’Ivoire to the west.
The population of the District according to 2010 population and housing census stands at 20,529 with 10,646 males and 9,883 females.
