ASUTIFI S: We are enjoying our allowance - Nursing trainees praise minister

Students of Dadiesoba nursing training in the Asutifi South District of the Brong Ahafo Region run to meet the vehicle of the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, lawyer Asomah Chereme with shouts and clapping saying "we are enjoying our allowance to the fullest, God bless you ".

The minister did find it difficult to move his vehicle since the students surrounded the vehicle with chants of praise and thanksgiving to the minister and the DCE for Asutifi South District, Robert Dwomoh Mensah and the NPP government for the timely re-introduction of the nurses’ trainee allowance.

This happened at the campus of the Dadiesoaba Nursing Training School when the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister reached the school in his familiarization tour of the Asutifi south district to interact with the chiefs and people of the district and also to inspect ongoing and commission completed projects by the government.

Master Abu Okyere, a student, told the chronicle that since he started taking his allowance, he no more worry his parents for books, hand-outs, pocket money, clothes and provisions among others.

Others said the allowance has catered for their sanitary towels, school fees, transport fares to their hometowns, bedding and toiletries, mobile phone for internet and research etc.

Student by student who spoke with this reporter thanked and praised the president of the republic of Ghana and his government for doing good to them and later pleaded with the president to pay them on time and regular to avoid arrears.

The Regional Minister visited and interacted with communities like Kwaku nyuman, Sienchem, sunkwa, Dadiesoaba,Mehame. Others are Nkasaim, Hwediem, Acherensua.

Lawyer Asomah Chereme inspected an ongoing bridge under construction to link Kwaku nyuman village and Kukuom on the Asunafo south district to ease trade and transport and a health center at Mehame, he commissioned a student dormitory at the Dadiesoaba nursing training school and the new office block for the Asutifi south district assembly. He also broke the ground for the construction of classroom block for Acherensua secondary school and a twenty seater modern toilet at Nkasaim.

Osuodumgya Barima Appiadwa Boafo II, the Omanhene of the Ahafo Hwediem Traditional Council paid a glowing tribute to the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister for his instrumental role towards the creation and realization of the Ahafo region and pleaded with him as a matter of urgency to come over and get the Hwediem -kenyasi road tarred to save the face of the two districts.

The Brong Ahafo regional minister, lawyer Kwaku Asoma Chereme thanked the chiefs and people of the Asutifi South District for their love and support for the president and the NPP government. He assured the people that election violence and brutalities in the Ahafo area by Abdulai Naaba and his group will never happen again as he is the head of the regional security council and promised to let the laws of the land deal with anyone who has killed and assaulted members of the district and pleaded with the people not to revenge any wrong doing melted on them but allow the law to take its course.

He charged the youth of the district to use the policies of the government like planting for food and jobs, free SHS, utilities bill reduction. One District One Factory to empower themselves economically and promised them of employment opportunities to come.

He later appealed to the chiefs and people of the Asutifi South district to rally behind the government in unity, peace, love and constructive criticism to move the district and the nation forward.
