Agric Extension Officers receive motorbikes
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region, Kodjo Ansah-Sem has presented motor bikes worth over thirty nine thousand Ghana cedis to the Agric Extension Officers within the Juaben Municipality.

The items included, six (6) Galaxy motor bikes with helmets from the Modernizing Agriculture in Ghana (MAG) to support the Agric Department in the Municipality to complement government vision to achieve the objective behind the introduction of the Planting for Food and jobs Programme and Planting for Food and Exports as well.

Making the presentation, Mr. Ansah-Sem stated that, the gesture formed part of government efforts geared towards the sustainability of Planting for food and jobs programme and Planting for exports initiative as well.

Speaking at the event, he warned the motor users to use helmet at all times when riding in order to save them from any unexpected accident, since it is violation of the law to ride a motor bike without a helmet, he noted.



Mr Ansah-Sem, then pledged the Assembly readiness to ensure regularly maintenance of the motor bikes to serves the purpose of which it was delivered for.

Mr. Stephen Nimo, the Municipal Director of Agric who received the motor bikes on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the (MCE) and commended the government for his countless supports to the Agric sector to facilitate the Planting for food and jobs programme to increase food production in the Municipality and the country as a whole.

According to him, the motor bikes will encourage the Agric Extension Officers at the various zones to carry out regularly monitoring to educate farmers on the planting for food and jobs programme in the area.

Mr. Nimo assures the (MCE) to handle the motor bikes with much care to last longer for the sector.
