KMA waste management receive compactor truck

Waste Management giants, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, has handed over a compactor truck to the Waste Management Department of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly at the forecourt of the Assembly.

The truck, according to Zoomlion, is expected to help in making the city of Kumasi clean and green under the initiative of the Green and Clean campaign of the government of Ghana.

The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Kumasi, Mr. Samuel Pyne said the distribution of the compactor truck seeks to achieve a green and clean environment and also boost the health condition of the people.

He therefore advised the drivers to take good care of the compactor to prolong its lifespan.

“Make sure the truck is put into good use and cultivate the maintenance culture for it to last to the test of time and better serve residents of the Greater Kumasi enclave for a cleaner environment “he said.

He also indicated that the Assembly has planted 1,000 trees under the green Ghana initiative.

The mayor further stated that the Keep Kumasi Green and Clean project under the Green Ghana project would be sustained to achieve its intended purpose.
