Persons with disabilities receive business start-up packages

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Chereponi Hajia Zuweiratu Mada Nashiru has reaffirmed the Assembly's commitment to resource Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the district to earn a decent living.

Hajia Zuweiratu made these remarks at a ceremony to present business startup packages to persons with disabilities in the district.

The startup packages were based on identified and individual needs and requests.

Items received were commercial ovens and gas cylinders, industrial sewing machines, printers, grinding machines, popcorn machines, deep freezers and others.

She added that the presentation of the packages is in fulfillment of the government’s policy direction on the efficient utilization of the three percent disability component of the district assembly’s common fund (DACF) and therefore admonished the beneficiaries to make the most use of the resources provided and encouraged them not to see their disability as a limitation.
