People living with Disabilities receive startup items
Persons with disabilities in the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region have received items worth GHS 90,000, to enable them startup their own businesses to help improve their livelihoods.

The items include; machines, baking ovens, desktop freezers, industrial sewing machines, computers, provisions among other.


The program organized by the Social Welfare and Community Development Department (SWCD) of the Assembly is the second of its kind organized this year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, Mr George Cyril Bray urged the recipient to put the items into good use.


He said SWCD has registered about a 140 persons with disability within the Municipality and is looking forward to register more members.

According to him, the distribution is in line with the vision as an Assembly to empower these individuals living with disabilities in the municipality.



In total about Ninety (90) persons with disability has thus far benefited from the programme.
