Nsawam Adoagyiri MCE accounts to the people

The Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly has held a town Hall meeting at Bowkrom to account to the citizens on the Assembly's activities and projects.

It also affords the people the opportunity to interact with the MCE, Assemblyman and staff of the assembly and also share their concerns and challenges in the community.

Mr. Isaac Kwadwo Buabeng outlined some of the projects undertaken by the assembly and also shared the development agenda with the people. He informed the chiefs and people that the road from Aduakrom to Bowkrom would be reshaped very soon as they await its construction after the main Nsawam Pakro stretch is completed.

He said as a son of the Bowkrom community, that road is his priority and would ensure it is completed before his tenure.The Budget and Development Planning unit of the assembly outlined the financial performance and standing of the assembly. They explained all the various sources of funds like Internally Generated Fund, District Assembly Common Fund, etc. to the people.

The Chief of Bowkrom, Nana Kumi IV thanked the assembly for choosing the town for the meeting and appealed that the quarries in the area be regulated and made to construct the road as they are always the cause of the poor nature of the roads.

He said anytime the assembly reshapes it, their heavy trucks cause’s potholes in them. He thanked the assembly also for the completion of the durbar grounds for the community and hoped the CHPs compound will be completed as scheduled.

Questions asked included the poor nature of the roads, lack of proper toilet facility in the community, additional electricity meters and the need for a police post and an AstroTurf pitch.

Responding to the concerns, the MCE assured that their concerns would be considered in due cause but appealed to landlords or the community to construct toilet facilities for their use as the assemblies have stopped the construction of such facilities for community use.

In a related development a mechanized borehole was commissioned for the community. The MCE appealed to the community to take good care of it and maintain it.
