End-Wash holds project briefing meeting
A two-day stakeholder capacity building workshop has been organized by the Global Communities to explain the En-Wash project modalities, and also to introduce relevant district staff to the Behavior Integration strategy.

The stakeholder capacity building workshop was held from Monday 19th to Tuesday 20th September 2022 at the Awusi Lodge Guest House in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District.

In her short address, the District Chief Executive, Lonsina Barikisu Watara said;"I know this E-Wash, this is not the first time we are having it in this District,”due to our good works that we operated the other time, that is why we had the opportunity to be part of it again and am promissing you that Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District will continue to do the good work and be the cleanest district in Savanna Region as well as the whole Ghana,because we performed very well the other time that is why we have this opportunity again I am also assuring you that you will always be welcome to this District anytime you are ready to come and work with us”.

She added “adding we are very grateful to the President for such a wonderful policy that will enhance our good hygiene and as the saying goes cleanest is next to Godliness if we are clean we live long we will be healthy and we will be successful people."


Hajia Asana Iddrisu, the regional project Coordinator stated that the Global Communities is partnering with Water4,World vision, WaterAid, Aquaya Institute, Safe Water Network, Deloitte, Afram Plains Development Organisation (APDO),Be Girl,The Manoff Group and Total Family Health Organisation (TFHO) to implement the End-Wash activity in Northern, North- East, Upper West, Upper East and Savanna Regions.

The End-Wash, according to Hajia Asana, is designed to be implemented in using a behavior-led approach to explain the project modalities and to introduce relevant District staff to the Behavior Intergration strategy.

Madam Asana,added that the United States Agency for International Development, in September 2021 selected Global Communities to implement the Enhancing Wash (En-Wash) project; an initiative to facilitate access to end use of sustainable water, Sanitation, and hygiene services and products in target Districts of Northern Ghana, over a 5 year period.
