The District Chief Executive, Mr Ignatius Akwasi Amankwah disclosed this at a breakfast meeting with district officers of the various cocoa buying companies in the area.

The meeting was to discuss with the companies how they could also contribute their quota to the new strategies of the Assembly.

The DCE in this regard appealed to the companies to support the District financially by informing their purchasing clerks (PC) to register with the Assembly, so that they would be put on a data base to enable the Assembly know the number of purchasing clerks in the District.

He said the move would also help the Assembly to monitor the company's activities which would go a long way to enhance their revenue and speed-up the development of the area.

He said about a month ago, the District Assembly through its finance department registered all properties, stores and business entities, to know the number of businesses in the District and also put them on a data base, so that they could be levied for more revenue in order to increase the District Assemblys IGF.

Mr Akwasi Amankwah further told the stakeholders in the Cocoa Sector that the government was doing its best to help develop the area, but that as an Assembly it was also their mandate to initiate local plans and policies which he noted required money to enable them achieve their dreams.

He therefore appealed to the cocoa buyers to support the District to be able to implement its local programmes and policies.
