NJSMA visits BECE centres
A team from the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly led by the Chief Executive, Isaac Appaw-Gyasi on Monday, November 15, 2021 paid a working visit to the various centres to monitor and encourage the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates.

The total number of schools from the New Juaben South municipality both Public and Private schools stands at Seventy-two (72), out these schools, two thousand five hundred and sixty-two (2,562) candidates, comprising one thousand two hundred fifty-five (1,255) males and One thousand three hundred and seven (1,307) females sat for the exam.

The team first visited the Koforidua Senior High/Technical school (SECTECH) of which the centre was divided into A and B. At both centres, all COVID 19 protocols were observed whiles all the candidates registered for the exams were present.

At New Juaben Senior High school, there were also two centers and the expected candidates were eight hundred and ten (810) of which four (4) were absent.


The team also toured, Pentecost Preparatory school which is now a new examination centre to absorb schools which were formerly, writing their exams at the New Juaben North Municipality.
Municipal Education Director for the area, Degraft Etsison, who spoke in an interview with the media said, upon discussion with the Authorities of Pentecost Preparatory school, they all agreed to help accommodate the other schools in order not to create congestion in the exam centres.

Mr. Isaac Appaw Gyasi on his part said management and the New Juaben South Member of Parliament, Michael Okyere Kofi Baafi who also doubled as the Deputy Minister for Trade and industry, organized a special mock for all candidates within the Municipality to prepare them ahead of the examination.

He then encouraged all the candidates to carefully read through the questions and give out their possible best, as they are the future leaders of the country.
