According to George Aseidu a zero point six meter drain is not adequate to carry large volumes of water when it rains heavily. He stated that running water from Bubuashie and Odorkor all gather at Kaneshie first light which has a small capacity hence the overflow and spread around the streets.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the GAMA Coordinator noted that what delayed the completion of the project is the 0.6 meter pipe culvert that is connecting an existing drain along the road.

“We have managed to expand the culvert and we have put in place a two point eight (2.8) covert which is across through to Odorkor Kaneshie highway, whenever there is a follow it would be able to take it away”.

During the May 29, 2019 flooding, we saw a light flooding there, when we investigated we realize that the flooding was not coming from the drain, it was coming from the surface run off from Bubuashie-Kaneshie-Odorkor stretch; but assured that in no time the situation would be brought under control with the completion of the drains in sight.
