AFRAM P S: DCE commission CHPS compound for Praprabaabida

The District Chief Executive for Kwahu Afram Plains South, Ofori George on Wednesday 4th December 2019 commissioned a Community – Based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) compound for the people Praprabaabida.

The facility is expected to serve the people of Praprabaabida and nearby communities.

Mr. Ofori handed over keys of the facility to the District Health Director Mrs. Joana Amankwah.

Mrs. Amankwahchips who was full of joy as the facility was being commissioned urged the people to help improve health delivery through community volunteerism, the formation of community health management committee in the health care delivery process.

He also called on the people of Praprabaabida to help integrate the health personnel posted to manage the facility into the community and not over demand from them since their role to give primary basic health promotion, vaccination, home visits, and OPD service, while cases that are beyond them will be referred to other health centers.

The facility comprises 2 consulting rooms, an OPD, waiting room area, an injection room and dispensary.

Mrs. Joana Amankwah thanked the District Chief Executive for the CHPS compound and urges the DCE to keep up with the good work. She assured the DCE the facility will be well kept and maintained.

He, however, made a passionate appealed to the district director of health service to port more nurses and midwives to the community.

The chiefs, opinion leaders and community members thanked the DCE for their support throughout the construction of the CHPS compound.

They used the opportunity to assure the District Chief Executive of proper maintenance of the facility.
