Minister commissions Immigration Info centre in Tamale
The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed has commissioned the Immigration Information Centre in Tamale and second in the country.

Speaking the ceremony, he called on the Immigration Service to intensify public education on illegal immigration especially among the youth who used those means to seek greener pastures in foreign countries.

He said the dangers of this illegal migration need to be emphasized.


He again appealed to the youth in the Region to make good use of the Centre and avoid migrating to other foreign countries to seek non-existing greener pastures.

Mr Salifu Saeed, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo - Addo, Chiefs and people of Northern Region thanked the Spanish Government for the good mutual relationship existing between Ghana and Spain.


On his part, the Comptroller General of Immigration Service, Lawyer Kwame Asuah Takyi said, over the years the Service has put up fight against illegal migration by rolling up programs and measures to curb this problem.


He noted that, “one of those measures is the one we are witness today, the establishment of Immigration Information Centre in Tamale.”
