Armed robbers attack traders on Kofiase - Asaam road due to its poor nature
Armed robbers have taken advantage of the abandoned Mampong - Kofiase road and rub traders last Friday evening of their belongings.

The incident happen between Kofiase to Asaam which was under construction by Kofi Job constructions. The contractor has left the road since December and had not returned. They have created a pit with the aim of constructing a bridge for a river, due to that, they have created diversion for road users.

However, due to the heavy rains this year part of the road has been washed away leaving gulliess that made it very difficult for those plying the road, and compelled drivers to move very slowly; and that is where arm robbers took advantage and rob traders last Friday.

No casualty was recorded, but their money and other valuables were taken from them. By the time the Police came to the scene, the robbers had already run into the bush. Before then some cars and motorcycles have had accident there.

Thomas Appiah Kubi, Municipal Chief Executive for Mampong Municipal on Saturday morning together with the Asaam District Police Command visited the scene.

In an interview with Kessben media, the MCE appealed to Road and Highway Minister to fast truck things to bring the contractor back to the road. "If it continue raining from now to September we cannot use the road", he said.

ASP Ransford Nsiah Asaam District Police Commander also assure drivers and passengers they are ready to protect them. He however advised them to report to police if they see anybody in a car doing suspected calls.
