GVMSA-KNUST moves to eradicate rabies
As part of the vision of the Sekyere Central District Assembly to eradicate rabies from the District, a team from the Ghana Veterinary Medical Students Association of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (GVMSA–KNUST) has conducted a mass rabies vaccination on dogs and cats at Beposo and Bimma communities.

According to the leadership of the team, to completely eliminate rabies from the District, there is the need to do a continuous vaccination program and create awareness.

They also urged the public to take the exercise seriously in order to minimize the growth of rabies in the District and further suggested the need for more Veterinary Doctors.


They also encouraged universities to admit more students to read courses related to Veterinary Medicine.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Kwadwo Banahene Badiako expressed his gratitude to GVMSA–KNUST for their initiative.
