District Chief Executive Meeting with Miners

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Seth Asante on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 held a meeting with all miners in the district and deliberated on issues of mutual benefits.

Key amongst them was the issue of non- payment of business operating fee to the assembly by the miners.

The DCE said it was illegal for any company or entity worth it sort to operate in the district with- out first registering with the assembly and therefore entreated them to register with the assembly to enable the assembly to have proper data on their activities.

He said the assembly was committed to providing the needed social amenities for the benefit of all and appealed to them to complement the effort of the assembly by paying their taxes. According to Mr. Asante the assembly would very soon start naming and shaming miners who engage in illegal mining activities in the district, by publishing their names in the dailies.
