T.W.M.A. ORGANIZE NAMING AND PROPERTY ADDRESS. GIZ SUPPORT START UP MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 22ND JULY 2021 AT THE TWMA ASSEMBLY HALL.

The Tema West Municipal Assembly held a meeting concerning Naming and Property address GIZ support start up meeting Present at the meeting was the Hon Municipal chief executive for Tema west, Mrs. Adwoa Amoako and all Heads of departments and units.

It was an introduction and training section for all the heads of the various offices on the New App called the dL Rev App. i.e. District local revenue management tool to be used for revenue collection as part of the directive by the ministry of local government.

In her opening remarks, the MCE for Tema west said the new directive to use the App for revenue collection will facilitate the process of revenue collection and help run the business of the assembly especially the departments that comes directly under the use of this new software.

Hon. Adwoa Amoako further said now almost everything is being done electronically and digital and therefore it is in the right direction to follow.

She therefore entreated all participants to give their full support for the success of the use of the new software (dL Rev App).

Participants introduced themselves prior to the start of the training. Madam Akua Arthur, the facilitators for the training said the GIZ is local governments newly introduced software thus the dL Rev App is a local Government Revenue Management tool also known as the district local Revenue Application is a software and currently Tema west has its naming address of the Map. Madam Akua said with the new system every address is uniquely identified with a Unique Parcel Number (UPN) which will be used to develop a comprehensive database for the Assembly to use in revenue generating system. The facilitator then books the heads through the advantages in using the dL Rev App which includes the following:

The dL Rev App helps identify revenue potential within a district/ municipality.

• It automatically calculated and gives what to be expected at the end.

• It makes it possible to see at a glance how much the Assembly is generating from all the rates at each point in time.

• It also helps to track the revenue collection and manage internal generation records.

• Workload and errors are reduced when using the APP.

The planning officer for Tema West said, pursuant to the new directive, Data collectors are giving to be trained to collect business data for the use of this purpose.

She made known that data collectors have been selected already and will undertake the data collections exercise for 15 days (From Monday 26th July, 2021 to Friday 13th August 2021 )

The facilitators suggested that the assembly purchase tablets for Revenue collectors to use during revenue collections to ensure the smooth running of the system thus the new software.
