Oforikrom assembly elects presiding member

Assembly members of the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly have re-elected Mr. Frank Frimpong, Assembly Member for Anwomaso Electoral Area as the Presiding Member (PM) for the Assembly.

Mr. Frimpong who held the unexpired term of office of the late Presiding Member Mr. Kwabena Boateng tenure of office expired on 24th January 2022 and thus there was the need to elect a new PM for the next two-year term

He polled 21 out of 21 votes in a ‘Yes or No’ ballot representing 100% of the total valid votes cast.

The supervising High Court Judge, His lordship Justice Kofi Akrowiah swore-in the elected PM through the oaths of office and secrecy to enable him exercises his full mandate to preside over meetings of the Assembly and other functions as prescribed by law.

Mr. Frimpong was thankful to his fellow members and all present for the confidence reposed in him to lead in the development agenda of the assembly. He was optimistic that the love shown will continue and translate to the development in their respective Electoral Areas.

Present at the meeting was the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Abraham Antwi, the Member of Parliament for Oforikrom, Mr. Emmanuel Marfo, The Municipal Co-coordinating Director, Mr. Charles Attah-Mensah and Departmental Heads.
