1990 year batch of Keta Business College supports alma mater with 60 office metal chairs

The 1990 year batch of the Old Students’ Association of the Keta Business College (KETABUSCO) at Keta in the Volta Region has presented sixty (60) metal office seats to the school at a brief but colorful ceremony at the school premises at Keta.

A seven-member delegation of the chapter made the donation on behalf of their members. The event which was witnessed by a cross-section of both staff and students was described by many not only as encouraging but also emulating by the other batches of the Old Students’ Association of the school.

Speaking at the ceremony, a spokesperson for the group, Dr. Olympio Attipoe said the gesture was aimed among other things at giving back to their Alma Mater. He recounted with nostalgia their days as students some thirty (30) years ago at KETABUSCO which was referred to as the only school behind the cemetery.

According to Dr. Attipoe, they were not deterred and demotivated from their focus and vision by such remarks, comments and descriptions of the school coupled with its acute infrastructural challenges at the time.

Dr. Attipoe emphasized that one of the significant attributes of KETABUSCO is that the foundation for its business subjects is not comparable to any school in the country. According to him, the school’s outstanding performance in business subjects including Accounting and Economics has been helpful to many KETABUSCANS not only within the country but also internationally.

He was happy that a lot has changed in the school, saying the fact that KETABUSCO has seen a lot of infrastructural injection by successive governments over the years in itself is refreshing and commendable. Dr. Attipoe also attributed the school’s significant infrastructural success story partly to a lot of contribution by the members of the Old Students’ Body of the school.

He encouraged the current students not only to study hard but also to take advantage of the improved infrastructural situation in the school to achieve greater academic laurels for themselves, their families, and the nation at large. Dr. Attipoe reminded the students that the global impact of the Old Boys is worthy of emulation, charging them to see beyond the sky as the limit.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr. Godstime Etse Seake-Kwawu described the support as commendable, saying it is always refreshing to see Old Boys coming back from their world of work after school to give back to their Alma Mater in their various ways.

Mr. Seake-Kwawu thanked the delegation in particular and the Old Students in general for the gesture and continuous contribution to the school’s development. He was hopeful that other year chapters of the Old Students’ Association would follow suit in order to make life a bit better for their younger brothers and sisters in the school.

Other members of the delegation included Mad. Joyce Afi Avorkliya, Ms. Eyram Boafo, Mad. Beatrice Agbovu as well as Mad. Philippine Tordzro. The rest were Ms. Bernice Yusifu and Mr. Godknows H. Adjei. All these personalities are all currently contributing their quota to national development in the fields of education, the private sector, business as well as in the public service sectors.
