NJSMA staff schooled on fire safety mechanism
The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly in conjunction with the Ghana Fire Service on Monday, 29 th May, 2023 organized fire disaster precaution training for the general staff of the Assembly in Koforidua the Regional capital.

The capacity building is to enhance the individual staff to safeguards their families and properties from any eventualities.

The Fire Service Department presented a well understandable and educative training to the staff on some safety precautions, causes, preventions, and the risks involved in the use of some electrical tools at home which can lead to a fire outbreak.

They said, the best way to fight fire is to prevent it from happening therefore, they have taken it upon themselves to educate the general public on the best and safest way to prevent fire hazards from happening.

Fire Man (FM) Daniel Agyei known as the (Leading fireman) from the Fire Service department of the New Juaben South Municipal began by giving a brief introduction on fire.

In his presentation, he explained that fire consists of three components known as air, heat and fuel and when these three components come together in their right proportion then fire can start.

He also mentioned some safety precautions which can be observed at our various homes and businesses in order to prevent fire.

He further encouraged the staff to avoid phone calls in the kitchen, ensure proper positioning of gas cylinders, regular checks of leakages and regulators on gas cylinders.

He was quick to add that staff should endeavor to avoid wearing loose dresses when cooking, avoid placing napkins and rags on cooking stoves, provide enough ventilation in kitchen areas and ensure regular checks on electrical wires and rewiring after 25 years, etc.

Finally the team from the Fire Service Department also demonstrated to the staff on the use of fire extinguishers and how they can face or escape from any fire outbreaks without any possible injuries.
