She added that farmers cultivate different varieties of rice, maize, and beans just to make sure there is enough food and serve as income to them and their families.

She urged all to encourage investors wishing to invest in the Agriculture sector to come to Bono East Region for “We are the food basket of the Country, Ghana”, she said.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kintampo North Municipality, Mr. Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw speaking at the programme, asked farmers to be motivated by what the Canadian Government has come to do for them “by changing Agriculture sector  in Ghana by deciding  to grow their businesses and tremendously increasing food production especially in the Bono East Region” he said.

Mr. Baffoe commended the Agric sector in spite of their daunting challenges; such as bushfires, fulani herdsmen menace, and some farmers not getting enough money for their produce due to unavailability of ready market for their produce and so on.

He used the opportunity to appeal to all to exhibit the habit of planting trees most especially economic trees such as cashew, coconut, shea butter, teak among others.
