Indian High Commissioner visits Kintampo municipality
As part of efforts to help strengthen the bilateral relationship between Ghana and India, the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Sugandh Rajaram, has paid a working visit to the Kintampo Municipality of the Bono East Region.

There were colorful display of culture and other best traditional performances to welcome the High Commissioner to the Municipality.
His Excellency Rajaram first visited the Kintampo Water Falls and the Faller falls both in the Municipality as the municipal Assembly yearns to woe investors to foster development.

Speaking at a short but colouful durbar, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, Mr. Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw, lauded the Indian High Commissioner for selecting the Municipality among the districts to be visited as part of his tour of the Bono East Region.

He seized the opportunity to appeal to him to assist the Assembly in addressing some pressing challenges that municipality is currently being faced with.



He called for support to help upgrade the College of Health and Well-being to a full-fledged University and also upgrade of the Kintampo Research Center (KRC).

He further called on investors to develop the Municipality’s tourist sites to help create jobs for the youth in the area.

Mr. Adu Gyan, the Bono East Regional Minister in his address, commended Management of the Assembly for their years of commitment and dedication towards the development of the municipality.


The Minister advised chiefs of the area to work hard to preserve the peace that the municipality is currently enjoying for the total development of all communities in the municipality.

On his part, Mr. Rajaram, who was obviously overwhelmed with the kind gesture given him, pledged his unflinching support to ensure development in the municipality.

He gave a brief history about Ghana and Indian relationship in the field of business technology, adding that India looks forward to having more of such partnership with Ghana and Kintampo in the near future.


He assured that India will partner Ghana to improve the Kintampo water fall to help generate more revenue for the Assembly.

He also spoke about some advantages to derive from converting the College of Health into university, adding that, the municipality can obtain technological advancement with the support of the Indian government.

Meanwhile, Dr. Poku Asante, the director of the Research Centre and the director of Bono East Regional Health directorate, Dr. Fred Adomaku Boateng took the entourage through power point presentation of some research projects and other activities being done by the Regional Health directorate.
