TaMA: Mayor commences work after smooth confirmation

Mayor of Tamale in the Northern Region, Mr Sule Salifu, has officially commenced work following his successful confirmation by Assembly members in the area.

As part of activities and efforts to secure God’s guidance and protection in his conduct of business as Mayor of Tamale, a special prayer session, led by His Eminence, Sheik Abdul-salam was held at the assembly premises to officially usher him into office.

Speaking at the short event, the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu used the occasion to remind Chiefs and opinion leaders in the metrpolis of their equal responsibility to develop the area for the good of all.

The Minister expressed worry over the unacceptable phenomenon of growing lawlessness and deviant behaviors among youth in the area.

He therefore appealed to the Chief to help ward off miscreants in the Tamale metropolis to help attract investors in the area.

Meanwhile, the MCE later took time to interact with heads of department at a maiden meeting, during which he assured them of his cooperation and broad Consultation in taking critical decisions that will insure to the benefit of the metropolis.
