The visit did not only demonstrate the government's firm commitment on the onerous pledge to construct the Daboya Bridge but also formed a basis for collaborative efforts between the District Assembly and the project managers.

Construction, which was intended to start late this year, suffered delay due to extensive and elaborate work being carried out by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

As of now, the EPA was yet to officially submit its report on the Environmental Impact Assessment of the project which will paveway for the actual groundbreaking work to start.

However, in an interaction with the DCE, the consultant assured that the EPA’s report will be made available soon as they are putting final touches on it in order not to fail the people and generations.

He noted that other matters including siting of construction camp, accommodation, and waste management were also being looked at.

On his part, Mr Bawa expressed the people's readiness to not only receive the contractor on site but also support the firm to undertake the age-long Daboya Bridge construction.
