The street lights project which was started a few months ago with two hundred lights which were installed on the main streets, received a boost with the acquisition of nine hundred and sixty(960) street lights with accompanying photocells two weeks ago from the Ministry of Energy.

Through the efforts of the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and Deputy Minister for Health, Hon Tina Naa Ayele Mensah, the municipality has been able to receive such a huge boost.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, on Friday 16th August 2019, led a team of electrical engineers and electricians to install the last batch of lights in selected areas of the municipality.

All the fourteen (14) electoral areas have been covered.

The exercise took the team to Bulemin, Paradise Hill, Zero and finally to Agape Gonsee Down.

In an interview, Hon Patrick Kumor (MCE), thanked the Member of Parliament, Hon Tina Naa Ayele Mensah for her efforts in getting the street lights.

The MCE said his vision of making night life enjoyable in the municipality is on track.

He reiterated the need for residents to be vigilant at all times, and report any defects to the Assembly.

He ended by saying that the Assembly would push for more of the street lights to illuminate all parts of the Municipality.
