The event which took place on the second day of the new year, (Wednesday, January 2, 2019) saw over 500 senior citizens together with traditional leaders from various communities within the district gathered at Ve-Golokuati, where they were treated to sumptuous meals and good music.
Founder of Kafui Foundation, Ms Kafui Takyi and her team who spent time with the old people, extended the season’s felicitations to them and entreated them to help ensure peace and tranquility prevail in their various communities.
She noted that, the occasion was to celebrate the senior citizens for their immense contributions towards the growth and development of their communities and the nation as a whole during their youthful days.
According her, “over the years these people have been left alone making them to feel neglected by the society after their working age, so the Foundation has seen it necessary to bring them together to make them feel that they are not forgotten.”
