KRACHI E: Late MCE's family shocked over negative media reportage

The family of late Municipal Chief Executive for Krachi East in the Oti Region, Francis Okesu, have expressed shock over some undesirable reportage in the media concerning the alleged cause of his death which occurred in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.

Describing these reports as “unprofessional and unethical”, the family added that these stories are cooked and only aims at discrediting the hard earned reputation of the late MCE.

The family is therefore calling on the general public to disregard such information in the dailies while they wait on the police and the Ghana Health Service to come out with accurate information regarding the cause of his death.

Portion of a statement signed and issued by Mr Sham-Una Gmakanyi Sulemana, a Personal Assistant of the late MCE read: “we the family were shocked at some reportage emanating from the media, we are very confident in the Ghana Police and the Ghana Health Service of conducting an independent investigation and publishing an autopsy report to unraveled what actually led to his death.”

Meanwhile, the police say, it has begun investigation to unravel circumstances that led to the untimely death of Francis Okesu, who until his death also served as the regional Dean for MDCEs in the Oti.
