JUABEN: Women challenged to stand up for leadership roles
The Gender Desk Officer for Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region, Madam Fatimatu Isahaka has admonished women in the area to actively partake in leadership positions in their respective communities.

She said, aspiring for leadership roles would enable them to take their rightful places in the church, community and the nation as whole in order to clear the minds of most Ghanaians who think women are neglected from contributing their quota in the society.

She was addressing a gathering of about four hundred and fifty (450) people at Juaben, during their maiden programme which was organised by gender desk officer under the auspice of the Juaben Municipal Assembly and support from GIZ.

The programme was aimed at agenda for jobs and creating equal opportunity for (2018-2021) which geared towards achieving the goal five of the sustainable development goals through the various Municipal and District Assemblies.

The participants were drawn from some selected communities within the Damang electoral area.



The participants were taken through the various topics including gender equality issues, honour your tax obligations, government flagship programmes among others.

There was opened forum for the participants to share their concerns and responses to be table before the Assemble authorities.

Madam Fatimatu also hinted that, there are more of such programmes in the pipeline to be rolled out soon for the benefit of the residents within the Juaben Municipality.

In attendance were, the Municipal Information Officer, the Municipal Social Welfare Officer, the Municipal Revenue Officer, the Municipal Officer, National Youth Authority among others.
