Asikuma Assembly endorses nominee
The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Assembly has approved President’s Nominee Mr Isaac Odoom as District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area.

Forty-three out of 45 Assembly members present voted yes to approve his nomination.

The election was conducted by the District Electoral Commission (EC) led by Mr Joseph Appiah Adjei at the Assembly’s special meeting held at Breman Asikuma.

Mr Thomas Kyei Baffour, Deputy Central Regional Minister witnessed the election in addition to Traditional Rulers led by Nana Okro Yaw Abonyin IV Adontenhene of Breman traditional area who deputized for Odeefo Amoakwa Buadu VIII Paramount Chief of the area.

Mr Clement Kwasi Asomah AOB district Court Magistrate administered the oath of Office and allegiance and later swore-in the new DCE into office.

Mr Odoom, an educationist thanked President Nana Akufo Addo for giving him the opportunity to serve his people adding that he will not abuse the honour made him.

He commended the Assembly members for confirming his nomination saying ‘I am DCE for AOB and not for a particular Political party” and I will work with all and sundry to improve the livelihood of the entire people here.’

The Deputy Central Regional Minister, Mr Baffour commended the house for approving the President’s nominee adding that since the Assembly concept was non-partisan, there was the need for them to place the interest of the constituency above their personal and political ambitions.

He urged Mr Odoom not to lord over his position on the people but rather to let team work be his hallmark to receive fruitful ideas, suggestions and information.

Later in an interview with the GNA, the new DCE said, education was his priority and he would collaborate with the Chiefs and all stakeholder in the education sector to find a lasting solution to the falling standards of education in the constituency.
