Samuel Adu-Gyamfi endorsed Aowin District Chief Executive
Mr. Samuel Adu- Gyamfi who was appointed by His Excellency the President of the public of Ghana for the position of District Chief Executive for the aowin District has been confirmed.

Mr. Samuel Adu- Gyamfi who was the former Member of Parliament for Aowin and parliamentary candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2016 presidential and parliamentary general elections was overwhelmingly endorsed by the assembly members as the new District Chief Executive(DCE) for Aowin district.

Mr. Adu-Gyamfi pulled 82.3 percent of the total votes cast. Out of 34 assembly members, 28 voted yes whilst 6 registered no.

The Western Regional Minister who is also the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso constituency, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie said the position of the District Chief Executive plays a very vital role since they are the soul representatives of the president and would ensure the vision of the ruling government is fulfilled in every district.

He said, government has outlined many good plans in the 2017 Asempa budget to improve the lives of the good people in the country, adding that when the western north region is created, it would help accelerate the development in the region.

The newly confirmed and sworn in DCE said he would champion the socio-economic development of the Aowin district, and ensure that the district gets its fair share in the implementation of policies and programmes contained in the 2017 Asempa budget.

He assured of putting measures in place to ensure efficient utilization of resources at the local level. “I shall not discriminate against any individual, group electoral area or community on the basis of the ethnicity or their political or religious affiliation. We are one people, one district, one nation”, he added.

Mr. Adu-Gyamfi said, he shall run an open and transparent administration, “my doors would be widely opened for consultations, suggestions, and constructive criticisms”, he stated. As a district that is predominantly agrarian, the Aowin district has a comparative advantage in the implementation of government’s agriculture flagship programme dubbed ‘planting for food and jobs lunched by his Excellency the president, he bemoaned.

Mr. Felix Foster Ackah, the Presiding Member for Aowin said he was much enthused by the massive endorsement of his led assembly members of the president nominee as District Chief Cxecutive of Aowin and promised working together to achieve the vision and mission of the district assembly.
