The presentation was done through the Assembly’s Department of Agriculture.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr Bodinga described the move as one of the government's efforts to revamp the agricultural sector of the economy by producing raw materials to feed various factories under the one district one factory policy.

He explained that the Nana Akufo-Addo led government has identified other cash crops like Oil palm, Coconut and cashew for investment aside from cocoa that the country produces in larger quantities.

According to him, it was therefore necessary for the farmers to support the initiative in order to ensure socio-economic development of the country.

He further admonished the farmers to, as a matter of urgency, plant the seedlings within the span of two weeks for the onward supervision by the Department of Agriculture.

"It’s part of the government's agenda to industrialize the country for socio-economic development and poverty irradiation”, the MCE noted.

“As for Abuakwa North, We have stable electricity and availability of the raw materials to feed the factory due to the hard work of his Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo led NPP administration.”

These coconuts will start yielding in three years' time".

The recipients however, thanked the government through the Municipal Chief Executive for the presentation and pledged their commitment to plant and yield the necessary results.

The event was witnessed by Mr Charles Bleue, Municipal Director of Agriculture and staff, the recipients.

It could be recalled that, thirty-two (32) farmers were presented with the coconut seedlings last year (2021) making a total of seventy-six in 2022.
