The ultra-modern facility was financed through the District Development Fund (DDF) facility of the Assembly.

Speaking at a gathering, the MCE urged the personnel of the command to make good use of the facility to prolong its lifespan.

She said she was convinced that the facility will boost the confidence of personnel in the Oda to help combat crime.

On his part, the Oda District police commander, Chief Superintendent Daniel Amoako thanked the Government and the MCE for the support and promised to ensure good maintenance culture.

Sharing the ordeals that personnel went through in the old building, Chief Superintendent Amoako noted that the old police station had no separate cell for juveniles and adults, adding that the situation forced personnel to detained both juvenile and adult inmates at the same cell.

He added that both male and female inmates also shared common washrooms.

This, according to the Divisional command, was causing great danger to the isolation of the inmates which sometimes put the lives of officers on duty at risk.

The new Ghana Police building will be used by the district command of the Ghana Police service until its final commissioning.

It has 4 offices furnished with air-conditioning and modern office chairs and tables for the police officers, 2 washrooms for officers, 4 cells with Washrooms for juvenile and adults both male and female.
