Doba women calls for peace

Women from Dabo community in the Kassena Nankana Municipal matched to the office of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) to call for peace between Doba and Kandiga.

The aggrieved women presented their petition to the MCE at the forecourt of the Assembly and expressed how the conflict is affecting their livelihoods.

They appealed to the Security Personnel, MCE and other stakeholders to extend their presence to Agrumaluku and Gingabnia Areas and also take necessary action.

The MCE, Mr. Joseph Adongo welcomed their concerns and expressed his dissatisfaction about the situation and its effects on the development of the area and the municipality at large.

He urged the women of both factions to be ambassadors of peace and assured them that he wouldenhance the efforts already ongoing to resolve the conflict.

The representative of the Navro Pio, on behalf of the Overlord reiterated the need for Doba and Kandiga people to embrace peace.

He thanked the MCE for receiving and listening to the concerns of the women and appealed to him to use the necessary state institutions to resolve the conflict.
