EJISU: 3, 594 complete JHS June 2019
A total of 3,594 candidates completed the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) this year in the Ejisu Municipality.

Candidates presented for the exams from public schools were 2,717 out of which 1,399 were boys and 1,322 girls. 877 candidates were also presented by the private schools, out of which 442 were boys and 435 girls.

The grand total of candidates presented for BECE were drawn from 87 schools comprising 49 public schools and 38 private schools. One hundred and thirty-four invigilators invigilated all the 11 exams centres in the municipality; and were supported by 11 supervisors and 12 assistant supervisors.

Similarly, Juaben Municipal presented a total of 1187 candidates with 645 boys and 542 girls from the public schools. Private schools also presented 85 candidates with 45 boys and 40 girls, drawn from 32 public and 5 private schools respectively, making a total of 37 schools with 4 exam centres. There were 4 supervisors, 5 assistant supervisors and 40 invigilators.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Municipal Education Directorate, Mr. Dickson Nsiah Asare, there were no students with disabilities taking the exams, stressing it has been a successful exams with no malpractices recorded.

He stated 2019 recorded increases in enrolment of candidates from all the schools from that of 2018.
