Assembly educates farmers on accessing CAP Business Support Scheme
The Sekyere Central District Assembly has met with all vegetable growers in the district to educate them on how to access loans through the Coronavirus Alleviation Programme (CAP) Business Support Scheme.

The meeting also highlighted how they can further strategize and come together as a powerful body in order to have greater bargaining power in the market.

The District Chief Executive, Kwadwo Banahene indicated that the COVID-19 relief fund by the government is intended to provide relief to small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) across the country that has been negatively affected by the novel coronavirus disease.



Mr. Thomas Fofie, the District Director for National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) stated that the government in collaboration with NBSSI, Trade Associations, and some selected Commercial and Rural Banks will roll out soft loans to SMEs and they will be given one-year moratorium and the two-year repayment period.

He further explained to the farmers the requirement and the steps to follow in applying for the CAP business support scheme.
