Jaman North District celebrates 66th Independence Day
The Jaman North District has celebrated the 66th Independence Day at Sampa Islamic school.

The celebration witnessed the presence of 29 Schools with a student population of 638 with 2 cadet teams.

Saint Ann's Girls Senior High of Sampa emerged victorious by taken home a set of Jersey, football and a certificate while the second position went to Our Lady of Fatima Vocational Institute of which they also took home a set of Jersey and a volleyball and a certificate with Goka Secondary Technical taken the third position by going home with a set of Jersey, a handball and a certificate of participation.


At the Junior High level, Kasipe Memorial International School of Sampa took first place and went home with a brand-new set of Jersey, a football and a certificate of participation. Sampa Presbyterian Junior High and Sampa Islamic Junior High took the second and third position respectively.

At the primary level, Sampa R/C emerged the winner with Kabile R/C and Asiri Presbyterian taking the second and third positions.

The DCE, Mr. Solomon Owusu during his anniversary speech thanked all for making the occasion a very memorable one. He however thanked the NPP government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for supporting the district with some educational equipment. 


He said, through these provision of educational materials, enrollment increased from 4720 in 2017 (55.2%) to 6926 (88.3%) in 2021. Again, 29 Schools are currently benefiting from the School Feeding Program in the district.

He again stated that the District Education Directorate through the Assembly took delivery of 6114 Science Text Books and 6114 Maths Text Books for Basic 1,2 and 3 and has been disrupted to the various Schools while 1110 English Textbooks for Basic 4 and 5 has also been distributed to the beneficiary/the needy Schools. 


He said, a total of 2197 Kofi Annan books were received and distributed and 15535 Text Books for 57 Schools across the district. He again said, 1352 dual desks were distributed to beneficiary Schools from November 2021 to date.

He added that, the assembly during last year thus, 2022 cut sod for the construction of a 1No:3 unit classroom block at Nasec Model at Sampa, Construction of a 1No:6 unit classroom Block at Jenkufa as well as the construction of a classroom block at Goka. 


On roads, the DCE said, during the year 2022, the assembly reshaped Sampa to Duadaso road, Duadaso to Kokoa road as well as Goka to Asuokor road.
