Ejura S: Assembly, dev’t partners to constructs Badukrom foot bridge

The Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) has cut the sod for the construction of a foot bridge/culvert at Badukrom-Buakro a community in the Municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Alhaji Mohammed Salisu Bamba at the sod cutting ceremony said the dream project is intended to provide the necessary amenities to deprived communities.

Its intention is to use the project to provide employment to the vulnerable youth, as it also provides training and employment.

According to Him, few Districts and Municipalities were selected to benefit from the dream project and fortunately, the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly has been selected among the few to benefit from it.

He highlighted that the dream of the project is also intended to solve climate change conditions and to mainly provide employment for the inhabited youths in deprived communities as they help to solve and construct projects of their communities and get paid for their services.

He further outlined that Badukrom-Buakro is a waterlogged area, hence inhabitants of the community go through hectic conditions to get to the other parts of the Municipality or get their goods transported to the market during rainy season, and this actually encouraged him to take the dream project to Badukrom-Buakro.

The chief of Badukrom community and also representative of the Omanhene of Ejura traditional council, Nana Appiah-Kubi, after pouring libation as a traditional prayer, rendered an uncommon appreciation to the leaders of the Assembly and the various NGOs for piloting the project to the community.

He added that the unconstructed footbridge/culvert has always been a headache of which attention of leaders had been drawn to it severally
