The benefit that comes with the implementation of dam construction is enormous for the people, particularly farmers living in Northern Ghana where the area has semi-arid conditions that is capable of slowing agric production in the north.

Against this backdrop, the Nabdam district assembly in the Upper East region has channeled resources from the Ghana Social Opportunity Project (GSOP) to construct three dams to help locals in these communities secure water for their various activities.

Madam Vivian Anafo, the District Chief Executive for the Assembly revealed in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com that the effort of the assembly to push this sort of project was crucial as it will suffice the needs of inhabitants in water issue and agric production as well.

The towns that benefited from the project include Kugiri, Nakpalig-zoya, and Logre respectively.

She claimed this basic community infrastructure provided for the three communities is a meaningful social project secured to boost the wellbeing of people living in the local areas under the district.

The project is however completed and currently in use in the beneficiary areas.
