LEKMA: Assembly registers 121 canoes

About 121 canoes operating within the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipality have been registered to enable the Assembly to have a database of the fishing sector in order to initiate better solutions to problems confronting fishermen in the area.

About 121 canoes operating within the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipality have been registered to enable the Assembly to have a database of the fishing sector in order to initiate better solutions to problems confronting fishermen in the area.

The measure is geared towards creating an enabling environment for addressing issues affecting the sector as well as helping to reduce problems hindering the conveyance of premix fuel to the area.
MCE for the municipality, Mr. Seth Badu Tawiah who made this information known added that not only were the canoes registered but were as well embossed.

He indicated that the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) has initiated a number of measures to bring relief to the agricultural sector which are worthy of commendation.

“The Assembly through the efforts of the Presiding Member was able to obtain funding for the construction of a net mending shed at the Nungua London Beach,” he revealed.

Mr. Tawiah added that a total of Five Thousand Four Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedi (GH 5,450.00) was released by the Municipal Assembly to the Agric Department to carry out anti rabies campaign in the Municipality of which 631 dogs have so far been vaccinated against the disease.

The exercise is however ongoing.
