The Ejura-Sekyedomase Municipal Assembly has given its approval to the nomination of Alhaji Mohammed Bawa Braimah as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

Forty - two out of the 61 members gave him their backing whilst 15 said no in an election held on Thursday at Ejura, and supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).

There were four spoilt ballots.

Mr. Samuel Yaw Adusei, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, praised the assembly for the maturity displayed and peaceful conduct of the election.

He appealed to members to do everything to avoid being bogged down in partisan political conflicts, self-serving interest and ambition but should ensure unity of purpose to bring development to the communities they were representing.

Alhaji Braimah thanked the assembly and promised that he would not disappoint.

Earlier, Mr. Adam Seidu Rafui, was elected the Presiding Member after he polled 42 votes to beat his two other contestants, Mr. Philip Appiah and Mr. David Bandago who received 11 and five votes respectively.
