A German philanthropist, Mrs Ingvield Goutz, has donated GH¢20,000 in support of the Denchemuoso Vocational Training Centre.

The amount is meant for the construction of a kitchen complex for the Catering Department, to enhance practical teaching and learning.

Mr Albert Osei-Wusu, Founder of the Centre, said Mrs Goutz has been the school’s major benefactor.

He said she had previously donated 20,000 Euros towards the construction of dormitories.

Additionally, Mrs Goutz is paying the fees of eight needy students.

Mr Osei-Wusu said the Centre, which has been in existence for 15 years initially focused on training teenage mothers in vocational skills.

He said tailoring, plumbing, electrical, dressmaking, catering and Information Communication and Technology had been inculcated into the Centre’s curricula.

He urged the people of Denchemuoso and its surrounding communities in the Atwima-Kwanwoma District to ensure that they enrol their children at the Centre to acquire employable skills to become self-supporting.

The Principal, Mr Charles Kodua, and the Chairman of the German-
Ghanaian Friendship Association, Mr Jeff Frank, thanked Mrs Goutz for the kind gesture.
