Commissioning of Banso Police Station

A newly built police station has been inaugurated at Akim Banso in the Atiwa West District of the Eastern region.

The facility which comes with a charge office, male and female cells, and additional offices was fully funded by the community.

At an inaugural ceremony the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atiwa West District Mr. Seth Asante commended the chiefs and people for their communal spirit and showing concern about security of the people in the area.

He said the gesture will go a long way to complement the effort of government in providing maximum security in the district and appealed to other communities to also emulate such example.

He further charged police officers posted to the station to act professionally and discharge their duties with dignity.

The chief of Banso, Barima Kwaku Kyei II, advised the people of Akim Banso to be law abiding and to cooperate with the police officers to enhance their work.

The Eastern South Regional Commander, DCOP/Mr. Felix Kwesi Cosmos, also called for maximum cooperation between the community and the police to ensure peace at all times.
