MFANTSEMAN: MCE echoes govt’s position to promote domestic tourism
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Mfantseman in the Central Region, Mr. Kenneth Kelly Essuman, has echoed the Akuffo Addo-government’s stance, to promote domestic tourism by reactivating and resourcing the Ghana Museums and Monuments to befit tourist sites.

He said it was also the vision of the current government to promote domestic tourism with a marketing drive centered on entrenching tourism culture among the Ghanaian people.


Mr Essuman was speaking at a colourful ceremony to commission the recently renovated Mankessim monument which serves as one of the municipality’s tourist attraction sites.


He said, although the assembly has over the years allocated funds to rehabilitate the said project, trading activities around the area had always affected these giant strides made by the assembly. 


"It is very sad for government to put up such a magnificent roundabout at Mankessim about ten (10) years ago and we allow it to deteriorate." 

 

 

He therefore called on all stakeholders to the join the assembly’s quest to promote tourism in the area.

 

 

Some dignitaries who graced the occasion include, Osagefo Amanfo Adu V, Paramount Chief of the area Assembly Members and various Departmental Heads.
