1D1F secretariat to review received proposals - Ohene-Kunadu
The National Coordinator for the “One District, One Factory” (1D1F) initiative, madam Gifty Ohene-Kunadu, has indicated that, the project secretariat, is currently accessing various proposals from prospective Ghanaian entrepreneurs who desire to partake in government’s agro-industrialization project.

She assured that the secretariat is keen on providing the needed assistance and make recommendations for these entrepreneurs to merit the necessary financial support to enable them set up their own businesses.

 

“I’m excited and overwhelmed about the public who flood the secretariat with brilliant proposals. I want to assure you that all the proposals will be accessed and if found viable, the necessary assistance will be provided to raise the proposal to the standard that will be acceptable by the financiers” she noted. 


Mrs. Ohene-Kunadu gave the assurance during yesterday’s launch of the much anticipated “one district, one factory” initiative by the government at Ekumfi in the Central region.


She indicated that, the secretariat has also developed close collaboration with the Ministry Of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, chiefs, farmers and investors to ensure that the relevant structures, infrastructure, land, raw material and funds are made available to help pave way for the factories to be established.


She said, it is the mission of the secretariat to among other things, identify and create business opportunities in various districts, harness the strength and resources of the locals in efficient technology and demand driven value chain.


She added that the objective of the “one district, one factory” initiative are basically to;


•    Increase job creation
•    Promote rural income generation through grassroot participation in industrial and commercial activities 
•    Promote import substitution for currency stability
•    Promote income generation for a wide range of producers 
•    Increase revenue through export 
•    Attract and improve profitability of investors and 
•    Provide necessary incentive to increase yield of domestic output.


She encouraged the youth not to lose hope but rather have faith in the current government since it was bent on delivering on its promises to improve the lives of the people.
