“Perform well and receive the Newly Constituted District Award”- DCE to BECE Candidates

The District Chief Executive of Afadzato South, Etornam James Flolu, has thrown a challenge to the candidates who are sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to compete and pass out with Distinctions in order to win a newly constituted District award.

According to him, the award will be for the best 6 candidates who will perform creditably in the ongoing exams.

Addressing the candidates, he indicated that the overall best performed candidate will receive a laptop as a takeaway to enhance his/her learning at the Secondary level.

He assured the candidates of the government’s readiness to admit them into the free SHS program.

As part of his usual annual routine, the DCE toured all the 6 centres which host a total of 1,313 BECE Candidates.

He provided stationery items and refreshments to the candidates across all the various centers.

The entourage comprised of the District Director of Education, the District Director-Human Resources, Deputy Coordinating Director and key officers from the Education Directorate.

Afadzato South District has since 2019 held the first position as the best District in BECE exams in the Volta Region.
