‘Let’s together work towards dev’t’ -Nkwanta South PM urges
The newly elected Presiding Member of the Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly in the Oti Region, Mr Edward Yilingnan, has call on assembly members to eschew their political differences but rather work towards the development of the area.

Delivering a speech after his election as Presiding Member of the assembly, Mr Yilingnan was of the view that, partisan politics have usually had negative impact national development.

"Honorable members, while assuming the position today as the Presiding Member, I'll like to call on all of us to put our differences aside and work hard to ensure that there's unity among members in this Honorable house. I shall leave by example and provide the right leadership needed to stair the affairs of this house."



He added that, he will establish an open door administration and accept divergent views in order to foster development in the area.

He thanked the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him by electing him as their presiding member.

"Since development has been the ultimate goal of the municipality, I'll work in collaboration with the municipality, the Chief Executive, Management and other assembly members within the municipality to ensure that each share of development fits the community"



He again assured the members that, he will work assiduously to promote action within his region and deepen consultation to increase transportation and sitting allowances due to the current economic situations.

On his part, the outgoing Presiding Member, Mr Robert Avedzida bemoaned how the COVID-19 pandemic affected his administration.
