The tree planting campaign forms part of the Green Ghana initiative which is aimed at planting over 20 million trees across the country.

Speaking to the Media, the MCE revealed that residents, including corporate organizations within the municipality had shown tremendous interest in the second phase of the tree planting exercise, adding that it is important for every institution to participate in this all-important exercise.

He added that trees served an important purpose in every community.

Mr. Oduro Frimpong then appealed to the people not to see the initiative as a single day’s activity but replicate it on a regular basis to ensure its sustenance and the desired impact.

He said, trees when well taken care of, would improve the ecological system of the area and help beautify the municipality.

Nananom, corporate institutions, security services, public and private institutions as well as residents thronged the Ejisu Municipal Assembly for their share of the trees.
