Atebubu-Amantin together with ten other districts will form the Bono East region which creation has necessitated the registration exercise.

A total of one hundred and nine-nine people have registered as at midday Wednesday when the ISD visited the district office of the Electoral Commission of Ghana where the registration is taking place.

According to Mr. Peter Gyedu, the registration supervisor, 14 persons registered on the first day with 29 and 111 doing same on the second and third days respectively.

A look at the registration figures shows a steady rise in numbers since the start of the exercise. Indeed the number of people queuing to get themselves through the process at the time of the visit gave an indication the upward trend will continue.

Political parties especially the New Patriotic Party NPP and the National Democratic Congress NDC have been playing very active roles in getting their supporters to register.

Mr. Gyedu told the ISD that system delays and power outages have been the main sources of challenge to their work.

The exercise which began last Sunday will end on Tuesday September 25 2018.
