President visits North East Region
The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has paid a working visit to the newly created North East Region.

Addressing the gathering at a durbar held at Nalerigu in honor of the President, Nana Addo, reiterated his commitment not to concentrate all regional institutions in the capital, but rather spread the regional facilities all through the region, so that every aspect of the region feels part of the new development that is taking place.

To facilitate smooth take-off of the new region, the President presented 8 vehicles, comprising 3 Nissan Patrol SUVs and 5 pickup vehicles to the North East Regional Coordinating Council.



The President, Nana Akufo-Addo also commissioned the Sakogu Community Day Senior High School, and interacted with students of the Nakpanduri Senior High School, where he also commissioned a 120-bed capacity dormitory.

On the part of the Overlord of Mamprugu, the Nayiri, Naa Bohugu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga, thanked the President of the Republic for the creation of the North East Region.



According to the Nayiri, the North East Region was “borne out of the visionary and sterling leadership of the President”, and thanked him for the gift of the region adding “Thank you for making your word, your bond”.



The Overlord of Mamprugu expressed delight for the award of Janga-Nasia-Kparigu road on contract for construction, as well as other equally important roads including Walewale, Gambaga and Nalerigu town roads and also called for similar works on Bunkpurugu and Chereponi.
